Sources indicate that Amy Robach and TJ Holmes’ friends believe their relationship still needs time to grow, especially after the couple announced their engagement this week.
Despite their excitement, there’s skepticism about whether this marriage will work, given that both have been married twice before.
A source mentioned to Page Six that Robach’s friends aren’t convinced that tying the knot is a wise choice.
“I don’t really know anyone who particularly likes TJ. Her best friend is still around, and those who truly care want her to be happy,” the source shared.
However, conversations in her circle “aren’t exactly thrilling,” the insider added.
Concerns about the couple’s relationship are not entirely new. Earlier this year, friends expressed worry that Robach left her lucrative TV job for this romance.
At that time, a source revealed that she was “depicting how happy the two were in love.”
Another insider described them as “best friends” deeply in love, suggesting that despite the scandal surrounding them, they seem to be thriving.
“We’ve only been engaged for about a month,” Robach shared on the Amy & TJ podcast on October 14.
“Honestly, I’m surprised we’re discussing this right now. We wanted to share with you all before anyone else could,” Holmes added.
Holmes explained how Robach would occasionally “dangle the ring in front of crowds” without anyone commenting, which indicates how public their relationship has been.
Robach recalled wearing the ring to a football game, hoping to draw attention, but it didn’t unfold as planned.
“That never happened… I think those close to us understand what we’ve gone through and don’t want to intrude,” she said.
The revelation of their relationship had created quite a buzz at ABC News, leading to their dismissal from the network, where many colleagues felt their absence.
Representatives for the couple declined to offer any comments.
