Cliff Maloney, who founded the Pennsylvania & New Jersey Chase, shared insights on Breitbart News Saturday, emphasizing that a vital strategy for outpacing Democrats is to create a robust, ongoing grassroots and door-knocking campaign.
Maloney spoke with Breitbart News Saturday host Matthew Boyle as the New Jersey gubernatorial election approaches, where Republican candidate Jack Ciatarelli faces off against Democratic candidate Mikie Sherrill. Current polling shows a narrowing gap between the two.
Maloney, a long-time grassroots activist, established the Pennsylvania Chase, which played a crucial role in helping elect Donald Trump as president and Dave McCormick as senator in the 2024 elections.
Now, he’s focusing his efforts on electing a Republican in New Jersey’s gubernatorial race.
According to him, New Jersey Chase is on track to knock on 500,000 doors.
“On August 4th, we sent 105 volunteers to New Jersey and managed to knock on over 330,000 doors. I’m excited to say that we’re aiming for 500,000. This race is incredibly tight,” Maloney reported.
He praised Ciatarelli as a “great candidate,” while likening Sherrill to New Jersey’s version of “Kamala Harris.”
During the discussion on Breitbart News Saturday, Maloney provided an overview of New Jersey Chase’s strategy to turn the state red, which consists of two phases.
In the first phase, activists reach out to registered Republicans who might not vote and offer them the chance to request a mail-in ballot. He explained that receiving such a ballot significantly increases the likelihood of them voting.
The second phase targets all Republican households, encouraging them to submit their ballots for voting.
Maloney added that Ciatarelli aims to become more competitive with Sherrill regarding mail-in voting.
When asked how he could replicate the successes of the Pennsylvania Chase on a national scale, Maloney emphasized the importance of door-knocking investments and establishing “permanent infrastructure” to energize grassroots efforts and implement distinct strategies to defeat Democrats.
