Trump administration ridicules the anger of 'crazy leftists' as work starts on ballroom at the White House

Outrage Over White House Ballroom Construction

Recently, many individuals on the left expressed strong discontent after images surfaced on social media showing demolition work starting at the White House for a ballroom commissioned by President Donald Trump.

One prominent critic was California Governor Gavin Newsom, who took to social media to voice his concerns.

“The disenfranchised left and its fake news allies are clutching their pearls over President Donald J. Trump’s foresight to add a grand privately-funded banquet hall to the White House,” Newsom remarked.

He added, “We’re going to tear apart the White House just like we’re going to tear apart the Constitution.”

The White House responded sharply, highlighting Newsom’s perceived hypocrisy on its own social media channels.

“Renovations to the Capitol cost California taxpayers $1.1 billion, four times more than the privately funded White House Ballroom, which costs taxpayers nothing,” an official statement noted.

It’s worth mentioning that the ballroom’s construction is partly financed by a $22 million settlement between President Trump and Alphabet, the parent company of YouTube, over the suspension of his account following the January 6 riot.

“This isn’t his home. It’s your home. And he’s destroying it,” said Hillary Clinton in response.

In a rebuttal, Eric Trump, the president’s son, remarked, “The ballroom is going to be spectacular…unlike the work in Haiti,” referencing the controversy surrounding the Clinton Foundation.

Others also chimed in to criticize the president. Massachusetts Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren expressed, “Trump won’t spend money on health care, education, or the federal government budget. But Trump will build a brand new $200 million ballroom for himself and his donors. It’s clear what Trump’s priorities are — and the American people are not on that list.”

Liberal influencer Majid M. Paderan added, “Everyone knows that the social behemoth he has created is nothing but evidence of corruption, a hub of bribery, a new headquarters for an old swamp. Trump is destroying the White House. He is destroying America. It’s disgusting.”

Trump critic Charlie Sykes remarked, “Sometimes the symbolism feels too obvious, too on-the-nose. Trump is using the cash from a series of shakedowns against the rich and spineless to destroy the White House to build a gaudy Liberace-on-steroids banquet hall.”

The White House defended the ballroom plans, stating that “the disenfranchised left and its fake news allies are clutching their pearls over President Donald J. Trump’s visionary, privately funded grand ballroom addition.” They claimed this addition reflects a history of improvements and adds to the Executive Mansion’s stature.

Construction costs are reportedly being covered by the nonprofit Trust for the National Mall.

“We are paying our own money. The government is not paying for anything. You can probably hear the beautiful sound of construction in the background. Can you hear that sound? It’s music to my ears,” the president stated, emphasizing his point to Republicans.
