Trump’s Visit to China with Business Leaders

President Donald Trump was greeted by hundreds of students holding American and Chinese flags as he arrived in Beijing on Wednesday for a significant visit to China. Among those welcoming him were Chinese Vice President Han Zheng and Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu.

During this trip, Trump is set to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping amid ongoing tensions in Iran. Reflecting on the relationship, he remarked, “We were taken advantage of for years under the previous president, and now we’re doing well with China.”

Accompanying Trump was a substantial delegation, including tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, who had previously had a disagreement with Trump but has since repaired their relationship. This marks the first visit to China by a sitting U.S. president in nearly a decade.

Before leaving for China, Trump made a statement at the White House, saying, “We are two superpowers. We are the strongest militarily on earth, with China being second.” He was cautious, however, about discussing the situation in Iran, noting it was “very much under control.”

In addition to Musk, a variety of business leaders joined the president, including Tim Cook from Apple, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, and BlackRock’s Larry Fink, among others from major companies like Boeing, Goldman Sachs, and Qualcomm.

Trump’s journey had been postponed due to the conflict in Iran, but he expressed confidence in his rapport with President Xi, stating, “We do a lot of business, and it’s smart business. We’ve been taken advantage of for years under previous presidents, and now we’re doing well.”

The visit is expected to last until Friday, during which an official welcome ceremony is planned for Thursday. Additionally, Trump dismissed a peace plan presented by Iranian officials, labeling it as “garbage” and claiming that the ceasefire was merely “on life support.”
