Group of NYU Communists commits to a Marxist uprising during 'No Kings' demonstrations

First appearance on Fox: A New York University (NYU) student participated in the “No Kings” protests in New York City over the weekend, distributing communist newspapers and expressing intentions to “overthrow capitalism” in various social media posts. The Instagram account for “New York University Communists” identifies the group as a new political party influenced by Karl Marx’s ideas.

The group shared a post that explained their involvement in the rally as an effort to engage with frustrated workers and youth disillusioned by capitalist systems. The protest was centered around the theme “There is no king.” During the protests, “New York University Communists” handed out literature outlining their perspectives.

Though they present themselves as a student-led organization connected to the broader American Revolutionary Communist Organization, NYU officials clarified that the group lacks official recognition. “There is no registered or university-recognized group called ‘NYU Communists,’ and we don’t know much about them,” NYU spokesperson John Beckman stated.

Amidst the demonstrations, the group distributed the October 2025 issue of “The Communist,” which featured headlines attacking millionaires and engaging topics like “Book an appointment at a Marxist school near you” and critiques of the “American Dream.” Some pages included barcodes directing readers to registration information for the Revolutionary Communists of America, while a donation of $5 was requested for “solidarity.”

Nationwide participation in the No Kings Day protests took place on October 18, 2025. The NYC rally attracted thousands of demonstrators and was partly financed by the Democratic Party, along with significant donors like George Soros. Former President Trump indicated that his administration would look into the financial backers of protests across the country, suggesting that Soros and other left-wing contributors were involved.

Fox News Digital has tried to contact both the American Revolutionary Communists and the New York University Communists for further details.
