Bondi criticizes Democrats for proposed ‘ICE tracker’

Bondi knocks Democrats over planned 'ICE tracker'

Attorney General Pam Bondi criticized Democrats on Tuesday regarding their plan for an “ICE Tracker” website feature.

“The closed Democrats are already neglecting law enforcement. Now @RepRobertGarcia and @SenBlumenthal want to endanger ICE officers simply for doing their jobs,” Bondi stated in a post on Social Platform X.

She added, “The Justice Department has a strict policy against violence toward law enforcement. We will take legal action against anyone who physically harms our personnel.”

In her post, Bondi included a snippet from a press conference held on Monday with U.S. Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D).

“The Oversight Board, which I’ve briefed the mayor on, will be rolling out a comprehensive ICE tracker on its website in the coming weeks. This will basically allow us to monitor every instance where we receive community information,” Garcia shared.

“Everything will be centralized in one location,” he added.

Garcia responded to Bondi about an hour after her post via his own update on X.

“@AGPamBondi, isn’t ICE detaining over 170 American citizens who are ‘just doing their job’? But since you’re focused on tweeting at me, when will you stop covering pedophiles and release the Epstein files?” the California Democrat asked.

Since taking office in January, the Trump administration has intensified its focus on immigration. Recently, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced a new $1,000 entry fee for immigrants allowed entry into the U.S.

This fee aims to “ensure accountability and combat widespread fraud in the parole system,” according to DHS. It also seeks to enhance oversight and “curb its misuse.”

“The Biden administration has manipulated America’s immigration system, effectively turning parole into an amnesty scheme, allowing millions of unchecked illegal immigrants into the country, harming all Americans,” stated Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary of DHS, in a previous remark.

The Hill has reached out for comments from Blumenthal’s office and ICE.
