Lamar Jackson Returns to Practice

Quarterback Lamar Jackson is back on the field for the Baltimore Ravens. He returned to practice on Wednesday, just in time for their Week 8 game against the Chicago Bears.

This marked Jackson’s first practice since he suffered a hamstring injury, which had kept him sidelined for the last two games. The injury occurred during Baltimore’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on September 28.

Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum commented on Jackson’s return afterward, saying, “Obviously he was lonely. He’s going to continue to get better and better, and we’re happy to have him on the field whenever that happens.”

Jackson, now 28, arrived about 20 minutes into practice. He was seen running around, participating in warm-ups, and, well, just looking more like himself again, which is definitely a relief for fans and teammates alike. His absence was really noticeable, especially since he missed Monday’s practice after the team had a bye week.

There were some doubts circulating earlier this week about whether he would actually play against the Bears. ESPN’s Dan Graziano had mentioned, based on conversations with sources, that Jackson might miss yet another game while he heals. That added a bit of uncertainty.

Though he’s back practicing, Jackson’s status for Sunday remains up in the air. When asked about it, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said, “I have no injury information to share,” which, honestly, didn’t clear up much for anyone.

This season has been tough for Baltimore, sitting at a disappointing 1-5 record, with their only victory coming in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns. A lot of pressure hangs on the team as they hope Jackson’s presence can turn things around.

In the first four games this season, Jackson performed quite well, completing 68 of 95 passes for 869 yards and 10 touchdowns, plus contributing 166 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown before his injury against Kansas City.
