Bella Hadid has addressed concerns from fans following her appearance at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. After walking the runway on October 15, the 29-year-old model left many viewers worried, with comments on social media suggesting she looked like she was “struggling” and even “on the verge of tears” during the show. One user mentioned feeling anxious that she might fall at any moment.
In response to the worries, Hadid commented, sharing that she had just gotten her period and had been unwell throughout a recent hospital stay. She admitted she hadn’t fully regained her strength but assured fans she was doing her best and expressed her love, saying, “It’s okay, I promise.” She added, “I’m sorry if I disappointed you… I love you and I mean it.”
Hadid showcased two looks during the show: a striking red lingerie set complete with a flowing cape and a silver ensemble paired with large angel wings. Her appearance comes a month after her mother, Yolanda Hadid, revealed that Bella had been hospitalized with Lyme disease, a condition she has battled since 2013.
Yolanda shared an encouraging message on social media, emphasizing support for those facing similar struggles, saying, “I’m so proud of you fighters. You’re not alone… we will continue to fight together for better days.” The post featured images of Bella in a hospital bed undergoing treatment.
Lyme disease is caused by the Borrelia bacterium, typically spread through tick bites. Bella has been vocal about her journey, previously posting on Instagram about the challenges of living with the disease. In August 2023, she wrote about how her condition has affected her ability to fulfill her roles while feeling a deep sense of sadness and confusion despite the blessings around her. She reflected on her experiences shaping her perspective, stating, “The universe works in the most painful and beautiful ways.”
Furthermore, Hadid encouraged others to remain strong and stay true to themselves, asserting that there is hope even in difficult times. “These 100-plus days of treatment… have all been worth it, if God wants me to live a life where I can spread love,” she concluded.
