Prince Andrew May Be Subpoenaed to Testify About Epstein

Representative Stephen Lynch, the leading Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, indicated during a recent interview on BBC’s “Newsnight” that Prince Andrew could be called to testify regarding his relationship with the late Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender.

“We’re very interested to hear from Prince Andrew about his involvement in all of this,” Lynch commented, expressing confidence that the committee would extend an invitation to the disgraced royal.

He also mentioned that the committee has already interviewed several survivors connected to Epstein’s case. Lynch conveyed that the accounts shared by these individuals have only heightened the committee’s interest. “It will increase the interest among both Democratic and Republican members who have seen the pain these women have endured,” he said.

Epstein’s extensive network, including Ghislaine Maxwell, who was also implicated in his sex trafficking operations, is a key focus of the committee’s ongoing investigations. Lynch emphasized that hearing from all parties involved would add depth to the understanding of the situation.

Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s alleged victims, filed a lawsuit against Prince Andrew in 2021, claiming she was forced to have sexual encounters with him when she was just 17. The civil suit ended in an out-of-court settlement in February 2022. Although Andrew has consistently denied the allegations, he agreed to contribute to a charity supporting abuse victims as part of the settlement.

In a recent twist, Giuffre passed away in April at the age of 41. Her memoir, which was published shortly after her death, includes shocking claims about her experiences, including allegations of being treated as a “birthright” by Andrew and detailing encounters that left her feeling like she could “die as a sex slave.”

Despite his previous public statements, which led him to step back from royal duties following a controversial BBC interview, Andrew’s situation continues to evolve. Lynch noted that the survivors of Epstein’s abuse share a strong connection with Giuffre and that her memoirs may deepen that bond.

With the committee’s investigation moving forward, it remains uncertain what additional developments may arise regarding Prince Andrew and his ties to Epstein.
