Illegal immigrant released by Biden linked to fatal truck accident in California

A 21-year-old undocumented immigrant from India, Jashanpreet Singh, is facing serious charges after a tragic semi-truck accident in Southern California that left three people dead. This incident comes after he crossed the southern border back in 2022 and was released by the Biden administration. Federal law enforcement officials revealed that he was initially detected by Border Patrol agents in El Centro, California, in March 2022, and subsequently released while awaiting immigration proceedings.

Singh was arrested for allegedly driving intoxicated and causing death by gross negligence after colliding with slow-moving vehicles on I-10 in San Bernardino County.

Dashcam recordings captured the harrowing crash that resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries. Authorities indicated that toxicology reports confirmed Singh was impaired at the time of the incident, and alarmingly, he had not applied the brakes before slamming into traffic.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed his lack of legal immigration status, leading to an immigration complaint being filed by ICE following his arrest. Remarkably, Singh was released under a 2022 policy by the Biden administration that allowed for alternative detention measures, highlighting a pattern where undocumented immigrants commit offenses after being released while awaiting hearings.

This isn’t an isolated case. Another undocumented truck driver, Harjinder Singh, crossed into the US illegally in 2018, obtained a commercial driver’s license in California, and was involved in a crash in Florida that resulted in three deaths. Investigators noted that he had failed both an English and road sign examination.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy commented on the broader issue, stressing the importance of English language requirements for commercial drivers. He mentioned that if states, particularly California, didn’t enforce federal language prerequisites, funding for highway safety could be affected.

The recent accident has drawn attention to concerns about safety and the ability of some drivers to communicate effectively on the road. The Trump administration’s recent announcement about withholding over $40 million in federal highway funds from California for non-compliance with English proficiency standards only amplifies the urgency of this issue.

As of now, the White House has yet to respond to inquiries regarding this incident.
