Kate Gosselin Facing Thanksgiving Alone
Kate Gosselin is gearing up to spend Thanksgiving without most of her children this year. In a recent TikTok, she shared that the holidays are going to feel a bit different as many of her kids are now off at college.
In her video, she mentioned talking to her boyfriend, Steve Nield, about their plans. “I just asked him what he wanted to do for Thanksgiving,” she said. With some of her children having their own plans and being far from home, she noted that it would likely just be the two of them celebrating.
“So, I invited some kids over, but they don’t have enough vacation time to come here for Thanksgiving and go home and go back to college,” she explained, reflecting on how things have changed.
Thanksgiving Plans
Kate continued, humorously adding that they might just order takeout since, well, cooking isn’t exactly her strong suit. “Oh, I don’t know, I was thinking of going dancing,” Steve joked, causing her to chuckle and roll her eyes as she reacted. “It’s very rude; he’s smiling over there – he’s proud of himself!”
She and her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, have eight children together, including sextuplets born in 2004 and twins Maddie and Cara. However, she didn’t specify if all her kids were invited, particularly her estranged son, Colin.
Controversies Surrounding Colin
Colin recently made headlines, claiming that he suffered abuse from Kate during his childhood. Allegations include that he was isolated from his siblings and even locked in an unfinished part of a basement. He characterized himself as a “scapegoat” for family issues, which certainly raises eyebrows.
He revealed details of his past, stating, “My mother became physically aggressive and very verbally abusive on many occasions.” Kate and Jon separated in 2009, with her gaining custody of all eight children. Over the years, Colin was sent to a treatment facility for behavioral issues, and in 2018, Jon obtained custody of him and his sister Hannah.
Health Issues
Kate recently underwent surgery for a broken foot, so she doesn’t foresee participating in any dance festivities this Thanksgiving. In a previous TikTok post, she shared a photo from her hospital bed, asking fans to pray for her as she navigates her recovery.
Despite the challenges, she remains hopeful and plans to keep engaging with her audience as soon as she can. “We love you all! We’ll be back as soon as possible!” she assured her followers.
