Nebraska Teacher and Boyfriend Arrested for Sex Trafficking
A teacher in Nebraska and her boyfriend were taken into custody on Friday, facing charges related to the sex trafficking of a 16-year-old student, as reported by the Holdreage Police Department.
Elizabeth Jamie Love and her partner, Jarid “Jack” Krause, have both been charged with sex trafficking a minor. Love is also facing charges of sexual grooming as a school employee. The investigation began when a student reported an inappropriate interaction between Love and Krause. The Holdreage Police Department, along with multiple agencies, including the Nebraska Department of Justice, undertook the investigation.
According to reports, Love works as a transition coordinator and teaches students who are deaf or hard of hearing for Educational Services Unit 11 (ESU-11), which oversees public schools in southern Nebraska. During questioning by a forensic pathologist, the 16-year-old girl revealed she had been in contact with Love since the seventh grade and that their relationship had become close enough to discuss personal matters. The arrest affidavit suggests that their relationship extended beyond typical teacher-student interactions.
The student reportedly planned to live with Love, transferring to a different school district. They used text messages, Facebook Messenger, and a non-school email for communication. In August 2025, while in Love’s car, she received a call from Krause, who expressed a desire to have sex with her. Following this, Love allegedly told the student she was “willing to share” her relationship with Krause.
Feeling uneasy, the student asked an aunt for a ride home and canceled plans to attend the State Fair with Love. Subsequently, on October 11, Love reportedly picked the student up and took her to Krause’s home, where he allegedly made sexual demands.
Love apologized to the student afterward, telling her not to disclose the incidents and giving her $20—both students received similar amounts, which Love insisted was not hush money but rather a gift to help with buying a cell phone.
Text messages between Love and Krause, which police have obtained, reveal discussions about proposing to a student.
Both Love and Krause are currently held in the Phelps County Jail on bail set at $250,000. They were slated to appear in court on Monday. If found guilty, they face sentences of life in prison and mandatory registration as sex offenders in Nebraska.
The ESU-11 staff directory previously featuring Love appears to have been removed at this time.
The Holdreage Police Department has directed inquiries back to the original press release and cannot comment further, citing the ongoing public investigation.
