Cease-fire between Israel and Hamas restarts after attack and counterattacks by IDF

Israeli Military’s Stance on Gaza Ceasefire

On Wednesday morning, the Israeli military reiterated its dedication to a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, a region currently facing turmoil following a significant attack on Hamas militants the previous day, which led to retaliation.

A statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) indicated that, “After a wave of large-scale assaults that targeted numerous terrorist objectives, the IDF has intensified its enforcement of the ceasefire following breaches by Hamas.”

As part of its response, the IDF claimed to have focused on over 30 senior figures from various terrorist groups active in Gaza.

On Tuesday, IDF Master Sergeant Jonah Ephraim Feldbaum lost his life in Rafah, Gaza’s southernmost city. Reports from Israel’s Army Radio suggest he was killed by a bulldozer during military operations in the area, which remains under IDF control as stipulated by the ceasefire conditions.

Shortly after the initial hostilities began, an anti-tank missile was launched at an IDF armored vehicle. Fortunately, there were no additional injuries reported.

In a recent security briefing, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed the IDF to “execute an armed operation in the Gaza Strip.”

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking to reporters on Air Force One, voiced his backing for Netanyahu’s actions regarding the ceasefire breaches by Hamas. He remarked, “They killed an Israeli soldier, so the Israelis retaliated. They should indeed respond.”
