Podcast Host Calls Out Democratic Leaders
On Monday, left-wing podcaster Jennifer Welch urged Democratic leaders, including Rep. Hakeem Jeffries and Sen. Chuck Schumer, to align themselves with the sentiments of “No Kings” protesters who celebrated the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA.
Welch’s remarks came during an episode of her podcast “I’ve Had It,” where she criticized Jeffries for endorsing New York mayoral candidate Zoran Mamdani just before early voting started. During the episode, she referred to Jeffries and Schumer as “assholes” and emphasized that they needed to get their act together.
“If you think the situation with Zoran is isolated to New York, you’re mistaken,” Welch stated. “Check out this clip from the ‘No Kings’ March.” The accompanying video featured a participant, dubbed the “wine mom,” expressing her satisfaction over Kirk’s shooting at a debate in September.
After showing the clip, Welch addressed the Democratic establishment directly: “You need to get on board, or we’ll target you just like we are MAGA. It’s that simple.” She emphasized the need for lawmakers to distance themselves from organizations like AIPAC if they wish to maintain power and engage with the community.
Continuing her critique, she remarked, “It’s embarrassing that Hakeem and Chuck haven’t been more involved, benefiting from the same corporate entities as Donald Trump.” She also applauded figures like Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Mamdani, while openly criticizing Kirk for his past actions.
Numerous protests occurred across the United States on October 18, under the “No Kings” banner, with some demonstrators openly issuing threats against Trump and other conservatives.
Welch conveyed a sense of urgency, asserting that many people share their frustrations and want politicians to advocate for the public’s interests, rather than cozying up to corporations and lobbyists. “It’s embarrassing to see you just sitting idly by,” she added, urging for more proactive engagement from leaders like Jeffries and Schumer.
In related news, journalist Brandi Kruse shared a video of a participant from the No Kings rally in Seattle, who claimed he would kill White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller if given the opportunity. The FBI is reportedly investigating the man’s threats, which have raised serious concerns about safety.
Miller and his family have faced harassment, with messages condemning him and his actions appearing near their home, ultimately forcing them to relocate.
At another rally, a protester expressed hope to read Trump’s obituary on his birthday, showcasing the charged atmosphere surrounding these events.
