Elaine Hendrix Rushed to Hospital After Injury During Rehearsals

Elaine Hendrix was transported from the Dancing with the Stars set on a stretcher after hurting her ribs just hours before her scheduled performance.

During Tuesday’s episode of the dance competition, Hendrix’s partner Alan Bersten shared that the “Parent Trap” actress was taken to a hospital following a significant injury while practicing.

Initially, Hendrix was set to showcase an Argentine tango to 2WEI and Bry Bryant’s “Bad to the Bone.” In a confessional, she admitted feeling “sick to the bone” about the situation.

“I’m making sure I’m not doing anything that’s really damaging to myself,” she mentioned, but everything changed when she suddenly “froze up” during their dance.

Bersten described the moment, noting that Hendrix expressed she couldn’t move or breathe, suggesting her ribs had been affected. The situation was concerning, as he remarked, “She’s in so much pain that I don’t know if she’s going to dance tonight.” He expressed his hopes that this wouldn’t mark the end of her dancing aspirations.

Due to her injuries, both Bersten and Hendrix were unable to perform live during the show and were subsequently judged based on their rehearsals.

Judge Derek Hough remarked on the difficulty of making decisions under the circumstances. He noted that Hendrix, being a natural performer, might have looked “10 years older” that night. Despite not performing, Hough praised their rehearsal and conveyed their love for Hendrix.

Guest judge Cheryl Burke also expressed admiration for Hendrix, saying that their partnership had been somewhat underrated and emphasized the importance of working on the right transitions for future dances. “Great job though,” she added.

Another judge, Carrie Ann Inaba, commented on Hendrix’s rehearsal appeal, describing her as strong and inspiring, and emphasized that she needed to return.

Following the show, Bersten reassured fans that Hendrix was feeling better despite the challenging circumstances. “She’s definitely getting better. I’m so grateful to all the fans who voted and supported us,” he said. He acknowledged the unknowns surrounding her recovery but remained hopeful for her return.

Before the live episode, Hendrix shared her feelings on social media, expressing her dismay at missing the performance yet remaining optimistic about coming back stronger. She thanked her supporters for their encouragement and love.
