Draymond Green Questions Knicks’ Championship Potential

Draymond Green isn’t convinced about the Knicks’ ability to compete for an NBA Championship. On his podcast this week, the Golden State Warriors star specifically criticized the Knicks, suggesting that their current lineup isn’t built for success at the highest level.

“Personally, I don’t think the Knicks are the favorites,” Green remarked. “They just don’t have what it takes to win big. I think we can really disrupt their offense and put pressure on them.”

He also expressed concerns about the Knicks defensively, stating, “Players who aren’t willing to defend, they’re going to struggle to win at the highest level. That’s where I have my doubts about the Knicks.”

Earlier in the week, Green identified several teams from the Western Conference that he sees as true championship contenders, including the Thunder, Nuggets, Lakers, Clippers, and, of course, his own Warriors. He wasn’t shy about adding that he didn’t see any teams in the Eastern Conference capable of measuring up to the top teams in the West.

The Knicks, meanwhile, are navigating their own challenges. After a promising 2-0 start, where they secured wins against both the Cavaliers and the Celtics, they’ve recently dropped two games in a row against the Bucks and Heat, with their next matchup on Friday against the Bulls in Chicago.

As for Green, he’s enjoying a solid start to the season, holding a strong 4-1 record against other teams considered “contenders,” including the Nuggets, Clippers, and Lakers.
