What to Expect in Euphoria Season 3
Returning to East Highland High School? Expect a warning. Sidney Sweeney recently shared some insights about the upcoming third season of HBO’s popular show, Euphoria.
The 28-year-old actress made a lighthearted comment, simply stating, “dildo,” during her appearance at Variety magazine’s Power of Women event. She added, “I mean, it’s Kathy. What do you expect?” indicating perhaps some unexpected moments in the series.
Sweeney also mentioned that filming is wrapping up soon for this season, saying, “This is actually our last week of filming. We’ll shoot tomorrow and Sunday and then finish it.” Though HBO hasn’t confirmed that this is the final season, Sweeney hinted that it might be.
She reflected on her experience, stating, “I think it’s going to be very bittersweet. I’ve grown up with these people. I shot the pilot when I was 20 and season 1 when I was 21, so it’s definitely a crazy experience to be with the characters for this long.” It seems that the emotions are quite strong as production comes to a close.
Sweeney expressed her gratitude for working with the same crew and cast, mentioning, “I feel like I’m about to burst into tears.” The series features a star-studded cast, including Zendaya, Hunter Schaefer, and Jacob Elordi. Unfortunately, the beloved Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, passed away in July 2023 at 25.
This season will introduce new faces such as Sharon Stone and Marshawn Lynch, adding some fresh dynamics to the show.
Last month, Elordi described the upcoming episodes as “incredibly smart and cinematic,” noting that he feels a sense of excitement as a viewer, which is a new experience for him. He mentioned that the storyline is uniquely structured, almost like an “FBI file,” implying intriguing twists await us.
Production on Season 3 resumed in February following some delays. Despite earlier rumors of a cancellation, HBO’s CEO, Casey Bloys, clarified that filming is ongoing and the show is very much alive. He emphasized, “We’re happy with the script and excited about this season.”
As for the release, Season 3 is expected to be available in spring 2026. Meanwhile, Sweeney turned heads on the red carpet, wearing a stunning crystal dress that garnered admiration from her peers, including a notable moment with Jamie Lee Curtis.
Reflecting on her journey, Sweeney shared a past experience where someone commented on her looks, stating, “Someone told me to fix my face or it wouldn’t work. I had to get Botox. I was 16!” However, she has chosen to embrace aging naturally, saying, “I plan to age gracefully.”
As fans await the new season, many have pointed out various images comparing her earlier and current looks, stirring discussions online. Sweeney humorously remarked on the commentary, “I’m like, ‘I’m 12 years old in that picture. Of course I’m going to look different.’”
With its emotional farewells and fresh beginnings, Euphoria’s third season promises to resonate deeply with both the cast and the audience.
