Erika Kirk Reflects on Late Husband’s Impact

During an interview on “Jesse Watters Prime Time,” Erika Kirk, CEO of Turning Point USA, shared a touching moment involving her 3-year-old daughter, who recently asked if she could visit her deceased father in heaven.

Since the assassination of her husband on September 10, Kirk’s daughter has been seeking answers about his whereabouts. Kirk reassured her, mentioning that one day they will all be together again. “Yes, my daughter keeps asking, but it’s really sweet,” Kirk noted. She elaborated on how she tries to explain things to her, telling her, “If you ever want to talk to Daddy, just look up at the sky and start talking to him. He can hear you.” They shared a moment where her daughter asked, “Do you think you can go someday?” to which Kirk responded, “Babe, we’re all going to go sometime. We’ll all go someday.”

In an emotional moment, Kirk cried after viewing a long video of her husband, the first she’d watched since his passing. Her daughter playfully suggested that her father was on a “business trip with Jesus” to find a “blueberry budget,” which brought a smile amidst the sorrow. There’s also a son in the family, who will be turning one next month.

Kirk had recently attended a ceremony where her husband was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Amid the grief, her daughter expressed a desire to celebrate her father’s birthday with a “birthday surprise.” Following her husband’s assassination, Turning Point’s board quickly appointed Kirk as the new CEO, honoring her husband’s wishes. In her inaugural speech shortly after the tragedy, she vowed that his movement would endure and strengthen.

“My husband’s assassins had no idea what they had done. They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith, and the love of God’s mercy,” Kirk said passionately, adding that the impact of her husband’s mission would resonate far and wide. “If you ever thought my husband’s mission was powerful, you have no idea. You have no idea what you’ve unleashed on this entire country, this entire world.”
