Quarterback Jaden Daniels Injured in Commanders’ Loss
The Washington Commanders faced heavy criticism on Sunday after quarterback Jaden Daniels sustained a severe arm injury during a game against the Seattle Seahawks. This happened while the Commanders were down by 31 points, with just 7:39 remaining in the game, and it appears he may miss the rest of the season.
Daniels’ injury drew ire on social media towards head coach Dan Quinn, who was questioned about why he kept Daniels in the game when the outcome seemed beyond recovery. At the time of the injury, Washington was making a push down the field, and remarkably, running back Chris Rodriguez scored on the very next play.
Reflecting on the situation, Quinn said, “Looking back, you don’t want to think of it that way because injuries can happen. We’re clearly disappointed in the result.” It’s worth noting that injuries can be tough to foresee, and this situation was clearly frustrating for the team.
Players were visibly shaken as medical staff worked to assist Daniels. Linebacker Bobby Wagner shared his feelings, saying, “It’s really tough to see him go down. I just want him to stay positive. We don’t know the outcome, so we need to keep saying positive things.” This was amid concern for their teammate who has already had a rough season filled with injuries.
Sam Cosmi, the guard, expressed a moment of concern, stating, “I didn’t know exactly what happened. I just heard silence and I bowed my head and prayed for him.” His reaction underlined the team’s support and worry for Daniels.
As it stands, Daniels is anticipated to be sidelined for a considerable time due to this injury. The atmosphere around the team is understandably tense as they prepare to navigate the season without one of their key players.
