Singer Claims Expulsion from Gold’s Gym Over Confrontation

A well-known singer-songwriter alleges that she was kicked out of Gold’s Gym in Los Angeles after a heated exchange with a man she claimed was using the women’s locker room.

Tish Hyman, 42, hailing from the Bronx, stated her gym membership was revoked on Sunday as a result of the incident.

In a video, Hyman can be seen in a one-sided shouting match with an unidentified individual clad in black attire and wearing a dangling earring.

The individual was seen trying to assert themselves amid Hyman’s outburst, which eventually led her to intervene.

“Now he knows how to be a man, right? Stay out of the women’s locker room! No one wants that. He deserves to lose his gym membership for that!” Hyman expressed passionately.

The person sought assistance from gym staff regarding any footage of the altercation, only to be informed that it had been deleted, leaving uncertainty about what exactly the video contained.

Following that, Hyman addressed previous complaints made by the individual against other patrons.

“We’ve already filed a report. You can’t kick me out! I’m a woman, and I shouldn’t have to deal with men in the bathroom when I’m vulnerable! There’s a naked girl in there!” Hyman shouted.

Despite this confrontation, the individual returned to the women’s locker room as if nothing had happened.

Hyman remarked, “Look at him, coming in like that—unacceptable!”

Shortly thereafter, Hyman claimed she was escorted to the front of the gym, where her membership was terminated.

In an Instagram statement, Hyman noted that she and other women had submitted “multiple written reports” regarding the man who had entered the women’s locker room and harassed them.

Another passerby recorded Hyman as she confronted gym staff right before she was removed from the premises.

“Men! There’s an adult male with a big penis in the girls’ locker room! That’s why I’m getting kicked out. I want all the girls to be aware!” she exclaimed.

Feeling frustrated, she added, “What on earth? Everyone saw that guy in the locker room, and no one said anything!… I’m the one getting kicked out for being naked in front of him without his consent!”

Hyman urged gym corporations to include “trans toilets” in their facilities.

In a subsequent Instagram post, she criticized gym staff, claiming they “ignored” her pleas even after she had “cried for help.”

“They removed him, but then I was punished too. It felt unfair,” Hyman expressed to her 218,000 followers.

“It was genuinely terrifying. Most women at the gym sided with me. A lot felt relieved that someone finally voiced their concerns. The men had to take action to remove him.”

Additionally, Hyman mentioned that the gym had recently undergone renovations and called for the establishment of “transgender restrooms.” She encouraged others to “stand up” and join her in a “#BoycottGoldsGym” campaign.

The newspaper has reached out to Hyman’s former Gold’s Gym, now owned by EōS Fitness, for a statement on the matter.
