It certainly feels like a flashback.
Richard Gere’s son and Cindy Crawford’s daughter were recently seen filming a new series together, nearly three decades after their high-profile parents’ divorce in 1995.
Kaia Gerber, 24, and Homer Gere, 25, were captured on the set of Ryan Murphy’s forthcoming series “The Shard” on Wednesday, October 29.
Kaia, who resides with her husband Rande Gerber, was dressed in striking red, sporting fitted pants and a coordinating T-shirt. She carried a bag and had her hair styled in loose curls.
On the other hand, Homer appeared in a sharp dark suit with sunglasses. He is the son of Gere and ex-wife Carey Lowell.
The series, initially reported to be in development back in May, is an adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ 2023 novel, also titled “The Shard.”
This horror novel delves into the story of a fictional serial killer in 1980s Los Angeles and is rumored to include semi-autobiographical elements from Ellis’ childhood.
The official plot summary introduces a character, seventeen-year-old Brett, who is nearing graduation at an elite prep school when a new student, Robert Mallory, joins. Robert is described as bright and charismatic, yet harbors secrets.
In the cast, Igby Rigney will portray the young Ellis, while Gere’s son plays Robert Mallory. There’s also Graham Campbell in a role as Tom, though details about Kaia’s character remain unclear.
This isn’t the first collaboration between Kaia and Murphy. She had previously appeared in his FX shows “American Horror Story” and its spin-off in 2021.
Crawford, now 59, and Gere, at 76, first met in 1988 at a barbecue hosted by photographer Herb Ritts and quickly started a relationship, according to Crawford’s words in a 2013 British Vogue interview.
The couple married three years later but separated in 1994, officially divorcing the following year without having any children.
Reflecting on their marriage, Crawford shared her experiences in the 2023 AppleTV+ docuseries “The Supermodels.” She noted how, at the beginning of a relationship, a young woman often tries to mirror the interests of her partner, explaining, “You try to mold yourself to the person you’re in love with.”
After their split, Crawford began her relationship with businessman Rande Gerber. They married in 1998 and welcomed two children, Presley, 26, and Kaia, born two years later.
In the meantime, Gere married actress Carey Lowell two years after Homer was born in 2000, later divorcing in 2016. He then wed Alejandra Silva in 2018, and the couple now has two sons, Alexander and James.
