Fight erupts at Texas Bass Pro Shop opening due to bathroom argument

A surprising altercation unfolded at a Bass Pro Shop in Texas, involving customers and what appears to be a surprising level of aggression stemming from a restroom dispute.

During the grand opening weekend of an outdoor superstore in Odessa on Saturday, things took a turn around 3 p.m. Two men standing in line for the restroom got into a heated argument, which quickly drew in fellow customers. According to reports, the conflict escalated dramatically.

The videos circulating on social media showcase two groups of men engaged in a physical confrontation, much to the shock of witnesses, who were clearly taken aback by the unfolding chaos.

In the midst of the brawl, a man sporting a Texas Longhorn jersey intervened, striking one of the fighters and shoving him down to the floor.

As the scuffle raged on, Bass Pro Shops employees and other patrons stepped in to separate the individuals involved, attempting to restore order. One visibly upset woman could be heard expressing her frustration, exclaiming, “You big men acting like idiots!” as she tried to call out the fighters.

She continued, suggesting that their behavior is reflective of larger societal issues, stating that it’s a poor example for younger generations.

Reports indicated that the brawl originated when a man became frustrated because another individual lingered too long in the restroom, igniting the dispute, as revealed by investigators.

While the Odessa police decided against filing criminal charges against anyone involved, the individuals who instigated the fight received warnings to stay away from the store.

One of the combatants did sustain minor injuries, though it wasn’t serious enough to require hospitalization.

Following the conflict, the individual who had been in the restroom eventually came out and confronted the person who had expressed their frustration, leading to further arguments both inside and outside the store.

Bass Pro Shops, established in 1972 in Springfield, Missouri, by Johnny Morris, has grown substantially from its humble beginnings, now operating over 200 stores across North America, with a significant presence in Texas alone.

The company offers a wide range of outdoor gear, and some locations also feature impressive aquariums and wildlife displays, making them popular destinations for outdoor enthusiasts.
