Anticipation Grows for the 2025 Patriot Awards
This year’s Patriot Awards are not just about recognizing American heroes; they weave elements of American history into their very fabric. The trophy for 2025 incorporates materials from former President George Washington’s church, wood from his famous elm tree, and musket balls from the Revolutionary War.
Set for November 6 at LIU Post’s Tills Center in Greenvale, New York, the 7th Annual Patriot Awards aim to honor those who have made significant sacrifices for their country.
Shane and Justice Henderson, a father-son duo, are behind the awards once again, having also designed the trophies for both 2022 and 2024. During an appearance on “Fox & Friends,” Shane remarked that he felt he had reached a peak with last year’s designs but was pleasantly surprised by this year’s creation.
“I honestly didn’t think we’d outdo ourselves this year, but my team really came through,” said Henderson, who leads Metal Art of Wisconsin.
This year’s trophy is shaped like a waving flag featuring vibrantly colored red, white, and blue sections. A special aspect of the design is the incorporation of nails from Trinity Church, which George Washington once attended and is also the final resting place for Alexander Hamilton.
“The nails are made from Trinity Church in New York City, which was Washington’s place of worship,” Henderson noted.
The church itself was destroyed in 1776, and nails salvaged from that site formed the flagpole—a powerful symbol of faith supporting the flag and its values.
Additionally, a strip of wood runs through the center of the award, made from George Washington’s elm tree, an iconic piece of American history.
“That commemorative stripe is crucial,” Henderson highlighted. “It’s actual wood taken from the very tree under which Washington took command of the Continental Army in 1775.”
Historical significance extends further; the stars on the flag—representing sacrifice—are crafted from melted musket balls from the Battle of Yorktown, a pivotal moment in the Revolutionary War.
“We took the time to melt them down, cast each star, and inlay them by hand,” Henderson explained, emphasizing the meticulous effort that went into each trophy.
The Patriot Awards have become a highlight on Fox Nation since they began in 2019, celebrating dozens of individuals who have made impactful contributions to the nation.
This year features categories such as Young Patriot, Heroism, the T2T Stephen Schiller Award, and the prestigious Patriot of the Year. A new award will also honor the late Charlie Kirk, with his widow, Erika Kirk, expected to attend the event. Notably, First Lady Melania Trump will also receive the esteemed Patriot Award.
