Erika Kirk Talks About Finding Her Murdered Husband's Body

Erica Kirk Reflects on Late Husband Charlie Kirk

In an upcoming interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters, Turning Point USA (TPUSA) CEO Erica Kirk shared an emotional moment regarding her late husband, Charlie Kirk, who was tragically killed on September 10. His assassination occurred during a TPUSA event at Utah Valley University, where he was discussing transgender issues with students.

In a preview of the interview set to air at 8 p.m. ET, Erica recalls her visit to the morgue. “You came right over because you wanted to see Charlie. Please explain that to us,” Watters prompted her.

With emotion in her voice, Erica reflected, “We walked into the room, and he was grinning. That laugh to me is the look that says, ‘Did you think you could stop what I’ve built? Did you think you could end this vision, this movement, this revival? Did you think you could do that by killing me? You got my body, you didn’t get my soul.’

After his death, TPUSA continued its college tour, with Vice President J.D. Vance and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson stepping in on stage in place of the late activist. Vance even transported Charlie’s body to Arizona on Air Force 2 ahead of the memorial service.

Charlie Kirk founded TPUSA in June 2012, aiming to support conservative students in high school and college. He also hosted “The Charlie Kirk Show,” which eventually transitioned to a radio format on the Salem Radio Network.

The memorial service for Charlie Kirk, held on September 21 at State Farm Stadium, quickly reached capacity. The event organizers even utilized Desert Diamond Arena, a former NHL venue, to accommodate additional attendees. State Farm Stadium has a capacity of up to 73,000.
