Eric Trump Expresses Frustration Over Investigation into Assassination Attempt
Eric Trump recently voiced his discontent regarding the ongoing investigation into the assassination attempt on his father, President Donald Trump. This discussion took place during an appearance on “Pod Force One with Miranda Devine.” The incident occurred in Butler, Pennsylvania, where Trump was shot at during a campaign rally.
When Miranda Devine asked him if he was satisfied with the information currently available about the attempted assassination by Thomas Crooks, a 20-year-old gunman, Eric Trump quickly replied, “No.” He emphasized his frustration, stating, “In fact, not only am I not happy, I’m completely pissed about it, and I continue to be… pissed.”
On July 13, 2024, Donald Trump was shot in the ear while speaking on stage during the rally. Reports indicate that Crooks fired at least eight shots from a rooftop, hitting Trump and also killing a firefighter, Corey Comperatore, while injuring two others. Crooks was subsequently killed by a Secret Service sniper, and the investigation is still ongoing, now being led by the FBI. The motives behind the attack remain unclear.
Eric expressed skepticism about the official narrative, questioning why there wasn’t more information released regarding Crooks and critiquing the details shared by authorities. “There was a photo of a child who appeared to be 14 years old, but I’ve never seen any other photos. We don’t know who he is,” he remarked. He also noted the quick cremation of Crooks, highlighting the unusual circumstances surrounding the investigation.
He further pointed out that while extensive details about individuals from the January 6 Capitol riot are available, information on his father’s would-be assassin remains scant. “The FBI has taken over,” he noted, expressing disappointment that even with a direct order given by his father to investigate thoroughly, progress seems stalled.
During the discussion, Eric Trump suggested that FBI leadership might be less transparent than desired, hinting at potential barriers in communication or information flow. He mentioned close connections between his father and some FBI officials yet remained unsure why the investigation seemed sluggish.
Despite Donald Trump’s prior declarations of being satisfied with the investigation’s pace, Eric clearly articulated his dissatisfaction. He concluded by underscoring the serious implications the incident has for national security, pointing out that, as someone not directly hit, he feels it is a joke that a proper inquiry is not proceeding.
When asked what might be holding back progress in the investigation, Eric Trump admitted he didn’t have any answers and preferred not to speculate. Both the Department of Justice and the White House have remained largely silent on the ongoing concerns regarding the investigation’s transparency and direction.
