7th Annual Fox Nation Patriot Awards Highlight Everyday Americans
After a particularly eventful political year, Fox News gathered to honor everyday Americans and the spirit of the nation at the 7th Annual Fox Nation Patriot Awards, hosted by Sean Hannity. The ceremony took place at New York’s Till’s Center for the Performing Arts, featuring notable appearances from First Lady Melania Trump, Turning Point USA CEO Erica Kirk, and country music star Jason Aldean.
This year’s list of award recipients was quite diverse and noteworthy. Melania Trump was recognized as the “Patriot of the Year,” picking up the award that her husband, former President Donald Trump, received last year. Over the last year, she has actively participated in various domestic and international issues, particularly advocating for children impacted by the Ukraine conflict. In fact, in August, she penned a heartfelt letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, urging him to protect children during these turbulent times.
She wrote, “President Putin, you can single-handedly restore their melodious laughter. By protecting the innocence of these children, you will not only be serving Russia, but humanity itself.”
Earlier in March, she took part in a roundtable discussion in Washington, D.C. about the Take It Down Act, which aims to combat the circulation of non-consensual intimate images online. The bipartisan bill was approved and signed into law on May 19th. Additionally, Melania addressed the International Women of Courage Awards, praising women’s achievements globally, including the story of an Israeli lawyer who endured 55 days in captivity.
While accepting her award, Melania emphasized the importance of innovation and the American Dream, encouraging people to pursue their aspirations boldly. “When someone creates a song, a movement, an idea based on their beliefs, it ripples outward and brings people together,” she reflected.
In a new addition, the award named after Charlie Kirk, who tragically lost his life in September 2025, was presented to his wife, Erica Kirk. She accepted the “Charlie Kirk Legacy Award,” noting the incredible impact her husband had on the younger generation and calling for Americans to reflect on their heritage and the legacy they will leave behind. “What are you leaving for your children? Will you be proud of it when you get to heaven?” she asked emotionally.
Alexa Anderson and Rhys Eckardt received the “Most Valuable Patriot Award” for their efforts advocating for equality in women’s sports after filing a lawsuit against the Oregon School Athletic Association. They urged girls to take action if they want meaningful change.
John “JR” Gaudet, a firefighter who lost his life in the line of duty, was honored posthumously. His widow spoke about his dedication to others, expressing gratitude for the community’s support in keeping his memory alive.
Among many emotional moments, Maj. James Capers, Jr. received the “Salute to the Service Award” for his heroic acts as a Marine during the Vietnam War. He underscored the bravery and sacrifice of his fellow soldiers.
Young Trailblazers and Awards
Various youth were also in attendance, including 13-year-old Devaljay “DJ” Daniel, who was recognized with the Young Patriot Award for his bravery in battling cancer. His story of resilience left a lasting impression, particularly when he articulated how he felt guided by a higher power. Meanwhile, Skylar Derrington was honored for her unwavering faith after surviving a tragic flood.
Finally, West Point cadet Larry Pickett Jr. was celebrated for his heroism after saving a man from a burning vehicle, reminding everyone present about the importance of courage and honor. Each recipient shared their stories, creating a powerful atmosphere, and inspiring reflections on service, sacrifice, and community.
