President Trump Makes an Appearance at NFL Game
President Donald Trump’s distinctive dance moves made a comeback during a recent NFL game. As he prepared to arrive at Northwest Stadium for the match between the Washington Commanders and the Detroit Lions, star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown caught a pass from Jared Goff at a crucial moment, resulting in a touchdown for the Lions.
In a celebratory gesture, St. Brown pointed towards where the president was seated and performed the now-famous Trump dance, swaying his arms and legs. His teammates joined in, adding to the festive atmosphere.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the “Trump dance” take center stage in the NFL. Last season, various players celebrated big plays with similar moves, and it has gained popularity following Trump’s performances at campaign rallies.
Before the game, Trump spent his morning golfing in Florida. He then made his way to Landover, Maryland, for a match that was part of the NFL’s salute to veterans ahead of Veterans Day.
Upon arrival, Trump was expected to sit alongside Commanders’ principal owner, Josh Harris, who has been in talks with D.C. officials about building a new stadium at the site of Washington’s RFK Stadium. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth was also spotted conversing with Harris before the kickoff.
Prior to heading to the stadium, Trump joked with reporters, “I just want to say, was that the greatest flyover in history? No one has ever done a flyover like that.”
Interestingly, a day before the game, a White House mediator conveyed that Trump wants the new stadium named after him, which led to some buzz. “I think it’s a beautiful name,” White House press secretary Caroline Levitt remarked.
While the coaches didn’t comment on the report, they warmly welcomed the president to the game against the Lions. “We are honored to welcome President Trump as we pay tribute to those who have served our country,” mentioned Commanders Club President Mark Close earlier this week.
Notably, Trump’s attendance marked the first time a sitting president has been present at an NFL regular-season game since Jimmy Carter in 1978. Although this wasn’t Trump’s first NFL game; he was earlier seen at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans this year.
In the past year, Trump has made appearances at various sporting events, including a Pittsburgh Steelers game, UFC events, the Daytona 500, the U.S. Open, and the Ryder Cup. With more games on the schedule, who knows? If players keep finding the end zone, we might see even more tributes to Trump.
