Carla Sofia Gascón Misses Selena Gomez’s Wedding

Carla Sofia Gascón shared that she could not attend the wedding of her “Emilia Perez” co-star Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco due to work commitments.

“I’m working,” the actress mentioned in Spanish at the Los40 Music Awards in Valencia, Spain.

She added that she hadn’t even met her own family yet, expressing that it would be tough for her if she had to cover the costs for what she referred to as the “Bill Murder” star’s wedding.

Gomez, aged 33, and Blanco tied the knot in September at a ceremony in Santa Barbara, surrounded by close family and friends. They had some famous faces in attendance, including Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran.

Interestingly, although Gascón was absent, her fellow cast member Zoe Saldaña was present at the nuptials. Earlier, there had been rumors of a feud between Gascón and Gomez—sparked by a tweet in 2022, where Gascón allegedly called Gomez a “rich rat.” This comment reportedly surfaced amid discussions about Gomez reconnecting with Hailey Bieber.

In that tweet, Gascón stated, “She’s a rich rat who plays the poor bitch as much as she can and will never stop bothering her ex-boyfriend and his wife.” Controversy arose again when older tweets were unearthed concerning other sensitive topics, leading Gascón to apologize for her past remarks.

Despite previous tension, Gascón and Gomez seemed to share a cordial moment during a brief interaction at the 2025 Oscars, where they greeted each other with a kiss on the cheek.
