On Sunday night, New York City experienced a violent spate of shootings, resulting in six people being shot and one man killed, according to police reports.
The incidents unfolded across various neighborhoods, including three shootings in the Bronx, two in Queens, and a fatal shooting in the World District.
Shortly before 9 p.m., law enforcement responded to a 911 call at a building on Brook Avenue in Mott Haven. Upon arrival, they found three victims—two men and a teenager—each suffering from gunshot wounds.
Authorities reported that a 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man had gunshot wounds to their backs, while a 29-year-old man was shot in the leg. Thankfully, all three were taken to Lincoln Hospital and are in stable condition.
No arrests have been made in connection with this incident as the investigation continues.
Earlier, around 8:40 p.m., police answered another call about shootings occurring inside a home on 16th Street, located between 147th and 149th Streets in Whitethorn.
Upon investigation, they discovered a 39-year-old man shot in the left arm and a 49-year-old woman with wounds to her right arm and torso. Both individuals were transported to a nearby hospital where they are reported to be stable.
A firearm was found at the scene, and detectives are actively looking into this incident.
In a previous shooting that evening, around 5:45 p.m., law enforcement responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting inside a building on South Boulevard in Crotona. They found a 25-year-old man unconscious with a gunshot wound to the head. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding his shooting remain unclear, and no arrests have been made yet. Authorities have not released his name pending family notification, and the investigation is ongoing.
