There’s really not much that stings quite like a farewell.

Fans everywhere are feeling down about the conclusion of bear. Hulu made all eight episodes of the fifth and final season available on Thursday, marking a poignant end to a beloved series. Created by Christopher Storer, this Emmy Award-winning comedy-drama first debuted in 2022 and instantly won over audiences with catchphrases like “Yes, Chef!” The show launched many actors into the spotlight, with standout performances from Ayo Edebiri (Sydney) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Richie, a.k.a. Cousin).

Without giving too much away, Season 5 unfolds in just one day and kicks off right after the Season 4 finale. In this season opener, the beloved chef, Carmy (played by Jeremy Allen White), announces his plans to leave the restaurant.

Lionel Boyce’s emotional goodbye

Marcus, portrayed by Lionel Boyce, is a favorite among fans as the talented pastry chef. Boyce reflected on the impact the show has had on his life, noting, “I couldn’t have asked for a better way to anchor the last five years of my life thanks to this show, this experience, and everyone involved.”

Jamie Lee Curtis’s special announcement

Jamie Lee Curtis has been active on Instagram recently, returning in a guest role as Donna Verzat, Carmy’s mother, a character she won an Emmy for.

As a nod to the concluding season, Curtis shared that she’s selling themed collectibles on her website, my hand in yours. In her announcement, she mentioned that the memorabilia is “expensive, but so worth it!” and all proceeds will go to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. A fantastic cause, Jamie!

Abby Elliott’s farewell

Finally, Abby Elliott bid farewell to the cast and crew as she played Natalie Berzat, a former bank executive turned restaurateur.

Elliott shared a brief yet meaningful message: “So much love, so much gratitude. What a gift to work with these wonderful people.”
