Naked Intruder Tackled by 79-Year-Old Homeowner

In a startling early morning incident, a 79-year-old homeowner shot a naked intruder on Friday, resulting in the intruder being knocked to the ground and sustaining a leg injury, according to authorities.

The event took place around 7:15 a.m. at Studio City Apartments located on Tujunga Avenue in Los Angeles. The homeowner recounted the scene during an interview.

“Why is he here naked?”

Authorities noted that surveillance footage displayed the suspect wandering through the neighborhood without clothing and interacting with a sign at a property’s entrance.

A representative from the Los Angeles Police Department reported that, shortly after entering the apartment, the intruder confronted two women inside. The women urged him to leave, at which point the homeowner intervened.

According to police, the intruder tackled the homeowner, resulting in both of the man’s legs being broken. Lt. Warner Castillo stated that the senior citizen fired three shots at the intruder in what was deemed a self-defense situation.

Castillo elaborated that the homeowner had warned the naked man to leave, even stating that he possessed a firearm. However, the intruder disregarded these warnings and physically overpowered the elderly man.

Although the intruder was initially shot once, he continued his advance, prompting the homeowner to fire again, ultimately leading to the intruder’s death.

The victim, named George, is currently recovering in the hospital following surgery. Neighbors mentioned that he is a Vietnam veteran.

The name of the suspect has not been released, and no injuries were reported for the women present during the incident.

A local resident, who chose to remain anonymous, described hearing noises that sounded like a woman screaming and saw the naked man. Initially, she thought there may have been a fire, questioning, “Why is he here naked?”
