Traveling to every country on the planet might seem like a lofty aspiration for many, but one adventurer is making significant strides. Daniel Bjornram, a 25-year-old from Sweden, has already secured 61 passport stamps and aims to visit all the countries globally.

His travels include places most only read about, ranging from South America to the Middle East, often venturing into territories considered risky. Some travelers might think it’s unwise, but Bjornram feels a strong urge to immerse himself in diverse experiences.

“I’m currently at a stage where I want to soak up the world and craft the best stories I can about my travels,” he shared with news agency SWNS. He recalled feeling tense when a police officer stopped him to take a picture near the Morocco-Mauritania border.

The officer mistakenly thought Bjornram was taking a selfie, which led to a slightly daunting situation. “It was nerve-wracking,” he admitted, mentioning how he felt when officers boarded the bus and took his passport for questioning. After they asked him to delete the photo, he was allowed to go.

Despite this unsettling experience, Bjornram remains undeterred in his pursuit of exploration. Recently, he spent weeks in countries like Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria—all regions travelers are often advised to avoid. His goal? To gain insight into daily life in places frequently overshadowed by conflict.

He found an overwhelming sense of pride and hospitality among locals, noting that many were eager to share their homes and meals with him. “People genuinely want to help,” he said, reflecting on those memorable dinners with new friends.

This level of generosity stood in stark contrast to the typical warnings associated with traveling to risky areas, shaping his understanding of the world. After years of travel, he has learned to blend work and adventure effectively.

Living with his girlfriend, Towe Lindstrom, in Australia, they’ve managed to save enough for future journeys. Looking ahead, he’s keen on exploring Southeast Asia next year.

Bjornram believes some of his most cherished memories come from trips where he didn’t adhere to rigid plans. “The most interesting moments often arise when there’s room for spontaneity,” he noted, adding that there’s no rush to complete his goal of visiting every country. “What matters most are the memories and stories I gather along the way.”

While not everyone may favor embarking on such adventures, Bjornram’s experiences remind us of the unexpected treasures that lie off the beaten path.
