A teenager who recently passed away under mysterious circumstances on a Carnival cruise ship had shared a poignant final post on social media weeks before her death.
Anna Kepner, an 18-year-old high school senior from Titusville, Florida, posted a mirror selfie with a caption about embracing happiness. Her TikTok profile will be made public on October 30th.
“You deserve to be happy, but if it’s not with me, then don’t do it,” she captioned the photo.
In the wake of the news about the boy’s tragic passing, her last post attracted numerous heartfelt tributes.
According to her family, Kepner was aboard the Carnival Horizon cruise ship, which was returning to Miami from the Caribbean on Saturday.
Details regarding the exact circumstances of her death remain unclear.
Authorities have not released much information, but they are currently investigating the incident.
The family, overwhelmed with grief, shared, “She was a very kind person.” They paid tribute to their daughter, stating:
“She loved being around people. She had an energy that drew people in with her smile and the way she carried herself. She was very easy to talk to.”
Kepner was set to graduate from high school in May and had aspirations of joining the military.
Her family noted, “She had just finished taking the exam to join the military.” They mentioned that she was already in talks with recruiters and was contemplating her career path, aiming to make a positive impact in the community.
Carnival Cruise Line acknowledged that a passenger had died onboard but did not disclose any further details. The company stated that their focus is on supporting the families involved and cooperating with the FBI.
