Hannah Hidalgo Shines in Notre Dame’s Recent Victory

Hannah Hidalgo, a standout on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish women’s basketball team, showcased her incredible skills in a recent game, further solidifying her status as one of the top players in the nation. Her performance on Wednesday was nothing short of spectacular.

In the matchup against Akron, Hidalgo set new NCAA records by achieving 16 steals and scoring 44 points, leading her team to an impressive 85-58 victory. In addition to her remarkable point total, she also contributed nine rebounds.

During her 28 minutes on the court, Hidalgo was remarkably efficient, making 16 of her 25 shots, including 3 of 6 from beyond the arc. The game was particularly one-sided, with Akron committing a staggering 38 turnovers despite maintaining a shooting percentage of 51.1%.

After the game, Hidalgo expressed her commitment to meeting the expectations of her teammates. “I know what they want from me,” she said. “And I want to do that consistently.”

Aside from Hidalgo, Cassandre Prosper was the only other player on the Notre Dame squad to score in double figures, adding 14 points to the scoreboard. On the opposing side, Akron’s Nylah Clark led her team with 13 points.

Currently, Hidalgo is averaging an impressive 34.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and five assists per game. With a 3-0 record thus far in the season, Notre Dame has demonstrated dominancy, previously defeating Farleigh Dickinson 98-52 and Chicago State 116-58.

Looking ahead, the Fighting Irish will face their first significant challenge this Saturday against No. 14 Michigan, followed by a matchup against No. 8 USC next week.
