FBI Probes Death of Florida Teen Found on Cruise Ship

The FBI is currently looking into the death of 18-year-old Anna Kepner, a high school senior from Florida, who was discovered deceased on a Carnival cruise ship. This incident unfolded just days after she shared a TikTok video that hinted at struggles with heartbreak and healing.

In a video posted on October 26, Anna featured a collection of selfies and expressed her determination to maintain a “smile” even after what appeared to be a painful breakup. She mentioned, “Every time I’ve been broken up, disrespected, lied to, cheated on, used, manipulated, and played with, I will always smile and have a kind heart,” according to reports.

In a later TikTok post on October 30, Anna’s message was more succinct yet poignant: “You deserve to be happy, but if it’s not with me, don’t do it.”

Tragically, Anna was found dead on the Carnival Horizon around 11:15 a.m. on November 7. Her body was later returned to Miami, but details surrounding the cause and manner of her death remain unclear.

Anna attended Temple Christian School, a private K-12 Baptist institution in Titusville, Florida, and was a member of the varsity cheerleading team. She was known to be an honor roll student and had aspirations of joining the U.S. military following her graduation.

Kepner’s father spoke about the family’s experience during the cruise, saying they took a six-day trip together and that Anna passed away under mysterious circumstances while the ship was in international waters. “Everyone was questioned. Everyone got off the ship. We don’t know who they’re investigating or what they’re investigating,” he explained. He added that he has yet to receive any updates from the FBI.

Friends and loved ones remember Anna as a positive influence, with her best friend, Jennavicia Guerrero, expressing disbelief over the situation, saying, “This can’t be real.”

As investigations continue, the community reflects on the loss of this young woman, whose life was seemingly filled with promise.
