Nigerian Pastor Gets Death Threats after Revealing Christian Genocide

A pastor in Nigeria is in serious danger after voicing concerns about the attacks on Christians carried out by Islamic extremists, and he’s calling for protection against what he describes as “genocide.”

“My life is at risk. Right now, I’m on high alert. Sleep is no longer an option for me. I’ve faced attacks before and managed to survive,” said Pastor Ezekiel Dacomo, who serves as the regional chairman of the Church of Christ of the Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi, during an interview on October 24.

A video recorded on October 15, shortly before his remarks, shows Dacomo standing by a mass grave containing the bodies of at least 12 church members who were reportedly killed by suspected militant Fulani herdsmen in Rachas and Raul villages.

In light of these events, Dacomo has criticized the Nigerian government, which denies that there’s any genocide taking place, and has reached out to the Trump administration, the U.S. Senate, and the United Nations for help.

“The Nigerian government keeps insisting that there is no genocide occurring against Christians, yet look at the bodies that were killed today,” he stated. “I’m urging President Trump to intervene for our safety in Nigeria, similar to his efforts regarding Israel and Hamas. Christians are being slaughtered. They argue that Muslims are also casualties, but let’s be real—who’s killing them? It’s Muslims!”

Dacomo also mentioned that he’s now facing death threats connected to the video and the claims of genocide, including intimidation from military officials after he spoke out about their inaction regarding the assaults on Christians in Barkin Ladi.

“The Nigerian military even issued a statement against me, accusing me of inciting unrest,” he said. “But by not taking action against the attackers, they’re the ones inciting violence. This is our reality, and we’re being driven to defend ourselves. If we don’t, the name of Jesus may never be heard in our country again.”
