President Trump announced on Friday that he is rescinding his “endorsement and endorsement” of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, labeling her as “bizarre” and “lunatic.” This decision follows Greene’s demands for his administration to publicly disclose documents related to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
“I am withdrawing my endorsement and endorsement of Georgia’s ‘Congresswoman’ Marjorie Taylor Greene,” Trump stated.
He expressed frustration with Greene, mentioning that despite listing many “accomplishments” of his administration, she has been critical of him recently.
Trump remarked, “[A]You can see that ‘weird’ Marjorie complains, complains, complains!”
Once a strong supporter of Trump, Greene has recently diverged on several issues, such as advocating for the extension of Affordable Care Act health insurance subsidies that are set to lapse at the end of December and urging the Justice Department to release the so-called Epstein file.
Trump indicated that Greene’s shift began after he advised her against seeking higher office. “It all seemed to start when I sent her a poll saying she shouldn’t run for Senate or Governor. Her approval rating was 12% and she didn’t have a chance (unless she had my support, of course, she wasn’t going to get it!),” he said.
He also signaled that he was tired of her constant contact. “She’s told a lot of people that she’s upset that I don’t return her calls anymore, but with 219 congressmen/women, 53 U.S. senators, 24 Cabinet members, in almost 200 countries, and an otherwise normal life, I can’t take calls from a lunatic who rants every day,” he added.
Trump expressed a hope for a more reliable Republican candidate in the 2026 primary to go against Greene. “I understand that some fine conservative people are thinking of primarying Marjorie in her Georgia district. They, too, are tired of her and her antics, and will have my full and unyielding support if the right person runs,” he noted, describing Greene as “a low-IQ Republican who hates anchors so much that she went far to the left, even appearing on ‘The View.'”
He concluded with, “Thank you for your attention on this matter. Let’s Make America Great Again!”
Greene is one of the few House Republicans to support an expulsion petition led by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), which challenges the Justice Department to release unclassified documents regarding the Epstein case.
Although Trump has previously characterized the Epstein scandal as a “hoax” perpetuated by Democrats, he mentioned on Friday that he would ask the Justice Department and FBI to investigate Epstein’s connections with notable figures and institutions.
Following her fallout with Trump, Greene reacted by sharing private text messages exchanged between them. “President Trump attacked me and lied about me,” she stated. “I haven’t called him at all, but I texted him today.” She shared messages in which she pressed Trump to check flight records related to Epstein and claimed that Bill Clinton had frequented Epstein’s plane.
Greene advocated for the release of Epstein’s files, highlighting the need for accountability regarding the victims and questioning potential connections between “bad actors in the Democratic Party” and Epstein.
“Epstein was a deep state spider. Get in there!” she asserted.
In another email to an associate, Greene expressed frustration, saying that her longstanding support for Trump and her insistence that the Epstein scandal was “not a hoax” drove a wedge between them. She noted, “Apparently this is what pushed him over the edge: the Epstein files.”
She accused Trump of using the expulsion petition as a method to intimidate other Republicans. Reflecting on her sacrifices for his support, she remarked, “I have spent far too much of my precious time and my own money supporting President Trump… But I don’t worship or serve Donald Trump.”
