Trump and Greene Clash Over Epstein Documents

On Saturday, President Trump labeled Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene as a “disgrace” to the Republican Party after she took to social media to express her disappointment over his failure to address her request for the release of documents related to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

“Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Greene is a disgrace to our great Republican Party!” Trump stated on his Truth Social platform.

This back-and-forth came about an hour after Greene verbally criticized Trump (without mentioning him directly), expressing frustration over his withdrawal of support for her re-election campaign, which she attributed to concerns regarding the Epstein case files. Trump responded with his scathing remarks.

Greene said earlier, “I never thought the fight to release the Epstein files, to advocate for women who were victims of rape, and to expose the web of the rich and powerful elite, would lead to something like this, but here we are.”

She further noted, “And that says it all. We need a new way forward. A toxic political-industrial complex thrives on tearing us all apart, but it never brings good to the American people I love.”

Continuing her thoughts, she emphasized, “We have far more in common than we have apart. I believe in the American people more than any leader or political party, and they deserve far better treatment than how they have been treated by both sides of the aisle. The path forward is America first, America only. And it may be the most dangerous of all pursuits.”

On the previous day, Trump had labeled Greene’s requests as “bizarre” and “lunatic,” further stating, “I withdraw my endorsement and support of Georgia’s ‘Congresswoman’ Marjorie Taylor Greene.”

As part of his criticisms, Trump pointed out Greene’s complaints about his administration in recent weeks, stating, “You can see that weird Marjorie complains, complains, complains!”
