Sen. John Fetterman Back Home After Hospitalization
U.S. Senator John Fetterman recently returned from the hospital after suffering significant injuries from a fall that required him to get 20 stitches in his face.
The incident occurred during a morning walk on Thursday. According to a spokesperson, he experienced a recurrence of ventricular fibrillation and felt dizzy at the time.
“After 20 stitches and a full recovery, I’m back home with @giselefetterman and my kids,” Fetterman shared on his X account, posting a smiling photo showcasing his injuries.
He expressed his appreciation for the “incredible medical care” he received during his two-day hospital stay and thanked everyone for their support and goodwill.
He concluded his post with a simple, “See you in DC.”
Ventricular fibrillation, or V-fib, is a serious heart condition where the heart’s lower chambers quiver instead of pumping blood correctly. This can lead to symptoms like chest pain, dizziness, and even cardiac arrest.
Notably, Fetterman had a near-fatal heart attack just six months before his election to Congress in 2022.
Recently, he stood out as one of the few Democrats who consistently voted with Republicans for a clean budget to keep the government running. Despite his support, many Senate Democrats opposed the stopgap measure, extending the shutdown for 43 days until an agreement was finally reached on Wednesday.
