Greene Expresses Continued Support for Trump Amid Tensions
In a recent interview, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene reaffirmed her support for President Trump, despite what some might call his significant setbacks. Interestingly, she also raised doubts about his dedication to the MAGA agenda.
Greene, at 51 years old, has voiced her concerns that Trump hasn’t prioritized American interests enough. Yet, she seems to be attempting to mend her contentious relationship with him. “I support him and his administration and I support him in fulfilling his campaign promises to the American people,” she stated on CNN’s “State of the Union.” However, she also acknowledged that some of his remarks were, well, hurtful.
“I hope we can make up,” Greene expressed later in the conversation.
Despite being one of Trump’s staunchest allies in Congress, her frustration with him has become more apparent in recent months. She has been pushing him to focus on urgent domestic issues.
On Friday, Trump responded by revoking his endorsement for her re-election, accusing her of drifting toward the “far left.”
Greene remarked that their conflict mostly revolves around the documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein, the infamous financier. “Unfortunately, it all comes back to the Epstein file,” she explained. “I stand with these women, I stand with rape victims, I stand with children in horrific sexual abuse situations, and I stand with survivors of human trafficking.”
She made it clear that she wouldn’t apologize for her stance.
Throughout her interview, Greene didn’t shy away from criticizing Trump on various topics. She addressed his welcoming of Syrian President Ahmed al-Shalah to the White House, his stance on H-1B visas, and even his international travel decisions.
“I sometimes disagree with presidents,” she noted. “Especially this Monday, when I praised the new president of Syria, an al-Qaeda terrorist who has been wanted by our government for many years.”
