A video has surfaced showing YouTube personality Jack Doherty taunting a police officer to a duel in the heart of Miami just before his arrest on drug-related charges this past Saturday.
According to reports, a Miami Beach police officer confronted the 22-year-old, saying, “You think you’re funny? If you’re trying to be funny, leave this street. I don’t know who you think you are, brother.” This exchange was captured in a TikTok video.
Doherty was taken into custody early that morning while standing in the street. Authorities revealed he was in possession of amphetamines, potentially facing charges for drug possession and resisting arrest.
As the officer was handcuffing him, Doherty appeared anxious and uncomfortable, reportedly attempting to move down the street while on his phone.
The officer expressed frustration, saying, “All you had to do was get to the sidewalk, that’s all.”
A video shows Doherty, who has around 28 million followers across various platforms, seemingly gearing up to film a prank, possibly aiming at the officer who eventually arrested him.
In the footage, Doherty can be seen shouting at several police officers, “Okay, I’m going to challenge you to a duel.”
“Everyone, stay on the sidewalk,” the officer instructed.
Doherty replied, “If we duel, sir,” prompting the officer to restate the directive to stay on the sidewalk.
Despite the warnings, Doherty wouldn’t budge, leading to the officer’s mounting irritation before he ultimately handcuffed him, saying, “Calm down, calm down,” as the influencer expressed surprise at the turn of events.
Doherty was then taken to the Miami-Dade County Jail at 8:48 a.m., where he claimed he spent five hours sleeping on a bench in his cell before being processed. He noted later that he slept for another five hours after that. In a video after his release, he was seen wearing a shirt displaying his own picture.
He remarked humorously about his situation, “Oh my god, I’m flying to Dubai in my head right now,” and mentioned hogging the phone during his time in custody.
This arrest follows a previous incident last year when he reportedly exhausted $200,000 related to his McLaren after being caught texting and live-streaming while driving in Miami.
Additionally, his arrest comes shortly after his wife, OnlyFans star McKinley Richardson, 22, separated from him, just under a year after their rushed wedding in Las Vegas marred by accusations during the ceremony.
