Mike Vrabel and Diana Russini were seen in a video from a private boat outing about five years ago.
The clip, obtained by TMZ Sports, shows the New England Patriots head coach and the sports reporter walking together at a private rental pier in Putnam County, Tennessee, back in June 2021.
In the footage, Vrabel, at that time the head coach of the Tennessee Titans, was dressed in a dark T-shirt and blue swim trunks, trailing Russini.
Meanwhile, Russini was casually dressed as well, sporting an oversized graphic T-shirt and green shorts, and it was clear from the video that she was visibly pregnant.
This newly surfaced video came out less than 24 hours after its initial report by TMZ Sports regarding their boating trip.
A source familiar with the situation mentioned that they rented a boat for a couple of hours and were “cautious about being photographed” during the outing.
Additionally, documents obtained by TMZ Sports reveal that both Vrabel and Russini signed waivers before getting on the boat.
Although they were hesitant about having their pictures taken, Vrabel reportedly agreed to take one photo under the condition that it wouldn’t be made public.
At that time, Russini was approximately seven months pregnant with her first child while married to her husband, Kevin Goldschmidt.
They had married in September 2020, and welcomed their son, Michael, in August 2021.
Representatives for both Vrabel and Russini did not respond to requests for comment.
Recently, Page Six shared exclusive images of the two sharing a warm moment, relaxing by a pool at a luxury resort in Sedona, Arizona, back in March.
In a statement to the media, both expressed that they were with a larger group of friends, which some witnesses have since refuted. Vrabel called any insinuation otherwise “laughable,” insisting the interaction was completely innocent.
Russini echoed this by saying that the photo didn’t reflect the entire group present that day and noted that it’s common for NFL reporters to socialize with their sources outside regular venues.
At the time the photos surfaced, Russini was still working for The Athletic, but soon after her photos were revealed, reports confirmed that she had resigned amid an investigation into her actions.
As for Vrabel, he addressed the growing situation during a press conference right before the NFL Draft, announcing he would take a day off to “seek counseling” after having “difficult conversations” with his family and team.
Just last month, another photo surfaced, showcasing him and Russini together in a New York City bar in March 2020, where witnesses claimed they were seen kissing and being affectionate with each other.
The source also mentioned that Vrabel, who was married at the time, was wearing his wedding ring during this sighting.
In a recent statement, Vrabel acknowledged his shortcomings and the impact of his actions on his family and team. He expressed a desire to focus on being the best version of himself for the people that matter most in his life.
