Trump Urges House Republicans to Vote on Epstein Files
Former President Donald Trump has called for House Republicans to conduct an “open vote” regarding the files connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He believes it’s time to “move on from the Democratic disinformation.”
In a post on Truth Social, Trump expressed his concerns about refocusing Republican efforts on achievements during his administration. He mentioned efforts to secure the southern border, deport criminal illegal aliens, and protect women’s sports from transgender individuals competing against them.
“As I mentioned to the media on Air Force One Friday, House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files. We have nothing to hide,” he stated. Trump added that it’s time to move past the “hoaxes” propagated by, as he put it, “radical left-wing lunatics” aimed at distracting from Republican successes, including a recent victory related to a government shutdown.
He also noted that the Department of Justice has already made “tens of thousands of pages regarding Epstein” available to the public and is currently reviewing its relationships with Epstein, particularly involving Democrats, including former President Bill Clinton and prominent donor Reid Hoffman.
According to a report by Nick Gilbertson from Breitbart News, Trump mentioned he intends to ask Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate the ties between Epstein, Clinton, Hoffman, and former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers.
Furthermore, Trump shared his desire for Republicans to focus on improving the economy—specifically affordability, lowering inflation, and delivering historic tax cuts. He highlighted goals of securing borders, deporting criminals, and protecting women’s sports in his remarks.
Part of his message read: “Nobody cared about Jeffrey Epstein when he was alive. If Democrats had anything substantial, they would have revealed it before they won the election. We must avoid being ‘used’ by some Republican members. Let’s discuss the remarkable achievements of the Republican Party instead. The so-called trap is actually a burden for the Democrats, not us.” He emphasized a desire to “make America great again.”
Trump’s post was framed as a “removal petition to the House of Representatives,” urging the Justice Department for further disclosure on Epstein-related files. Reports suggest it gathered support from both House Democrats and Republicans, including Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene and Nancy Mace.
