Quentin Jammer Speaks Out on Gender Spaces
Quentin Jammer, a former NFL defensive back with a 12-year career, shared his views on men in women-only spaces via social media over the weekend.
Jammer, who played for the San Diego Chargers and Denver Broncos, offered support for fitness influencer Joey Swoll. Swoll had reacted to a situation where a woman resisted a man in the women’s locker room, stating that men shouldn’t have access to those spaces. Jammer echoed this sentiment.
He expressed his opinion rather emphatically, saying, “Absolutely, totally!!!” on X. He further elaborated that anyone who disagrees with his views might as well be “in the trolls!!!” He identified himself as a father committed to protecting safe spaces for women.
“Men shouldn’t be in women’s safe spaces,” he stated bluntly.
During his NFL tenure, Jammer appeared in 183 games, recording 735 tackles, 21 interceptions, one touchdown, and 140 pass breakups.
This incident relates to a recent event in California where a woman claimed she lost her gym membership for protesting against a man in the women’s locker room.
Jammer isn’t the only NFL figure to voice opposition to this issue. Earlier this year, Donald Driver, a former Green Bay Packers wide receiver, expressed his belief that men shouldn’t compete against women in sports. He remarked on the particularities of gender, saying, “At the end of the day, if God makes you a man, you’re going to compete in a men’s sport. If he makes you a woman, you’re going to be competing in a women’s sport.” He further noted the importance of being open-minded, yet transparent, in such discussions.
