He danced the night away.
Tom Cruise was spotted dancing with Debbie Allen at a gathering on Saturday, just a day before he received a prestigious Oscar at the 2025 Governors Awards.
A video shared on Instagram shows the “Mission: Impossible” star and the “Fame” icon dancing to Frankie Beverly and Maze’s classic track “Before I Let Go” at an event hosted by the Debbie Allen Dance Academy in Los Angeles.
At one point, Cruise, looking sharp in a black suit, spun around and embraced Allen, who donned a beautiful floral dress, swaying side to side.
In another segment of the footage, the “Top Gun” actor, who is 63, was seen dancing to Luther Vandross’ “Never Too Much” alongside Jennifer Lewis from “Black-ish” and Phylicia Rashad, Debbie’s sister.
“The vibe was incredible last night!” DJ D-Nice, whose real name is Derrick T. Jones, noted in his post.
“Keeping the energy alive while celebrating @therealdebbieallen in style. @tomcruise is definitely invited to the BBQ! 🪩🕺🏾”
Fans reacted positively, complimenting Cruise’s dancing skills in the comments.
“Tom seems to be enjoying himself so much!!! 💃🏽💃🏽🤣 Awesome, Tom!!” one user commented.
“It’s great to see him relaxed and having fun. DJ D-Nice always knows how to set the mood. ♥️🔥,” another remarked.
“Okay, Tom’s really letting loose! You gotta appreciate that,” said a third.
The following day, Cruise and Allen accepted their Oscars, along with Dolly Parton and Wynne Thomas, at the Governors Awards hosted at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Hollywood.
The winners were revealed in June, with then-Academy President Janet Yang emphasizing their legendary status and ongoing impact on the film industry.
