Assassination Attempt on Trump in Pennsylvania: Details Emerge

A man who attempted to assassinate President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, reportedly had a peculiar interest in “fur.”

Thomas Crooks allegedly shot at President Trump on July 13, 2024, targeting him in the ear. The incident resulted in the death of 50-year-old Corey Comperatore, who was present at the rally, and left two others with severe injuries.

There’s still quite a bit of uncertainty surrounding Crooks’ motivations. He seemed to be a pro-Trump individual initially, but then he made a sudden and stark shift away from that position.

According to a source who uncovered Crooks’ digital history, he misled Congress by excluding critical parts of his online activity from early 2020, during which he switched from being passionately pro-Trump to vehemently anti-Trump, then basically vanished from social media.

The source also identified Crooks’ various accounts across platforms such as YouTube, Discord, and Quora, providing evidence that he wasn’t just a random lone wolf but had left a clear digital trail filled with violent threats and extremist beliefs.

Throughout 2020, Crooks actively spread his anti-Trump sentiments, characterizing both Trump and his supporters as racist. “The only way to fight the government is through terrorist-style attacks, sneaking bombs into key buildings,” he stated in a post from August.

Additionally, it appears Crooks had a particular affinity for furry culture. He used the pronouns “they/them” on DeviantArt, a prominent site for furry art. The term “furry” describes individuals intrigued by anthropomorphic animal characters, often in a sexual context.

Two accounts linked to Crooks on DeviantArt had the usernames “epicmicrowave” and “theepicmicrowave,” showcasing his fixation on cartoon characters that emphasized muscular male and female traits.

This fascination aligns with prior reports about Tyler Robinson, the suspected killer of Charlie Kirk, who also had a troubling obsession with the furry subculture.

Reports highlighted Robinson’s engagement in furry adult content and his experience with a game titled Furry Shades of Gay, which revolves around themes of relationships and humor. He reportedly won recognition for his gameplay while often using the username craftin247 on various platforms.

Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) has expressed that last year’s assassination attempt was “completely avoidable” and nearly cost President Trump his life.

Threats against Trump remain a concern. Last month, FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that he discovered a hunting platform that posed a threat visible to Trump as he disembarked from Air Force One in Florida.
