“Noel: The Birth of Jesus” Concert at Kennedy Center with Matthew West and Charles Billingsley

Christmas Concert at the Kennedy Center

The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., is set to host a Christian concert, which will include notable Christians, Bible readings, and live Nativity music.

The event, titled “Noel Jesus is Born!”, is scheduled for December 17th at 7:30 p.m. at the Kennedy Center Opera House.

Roman Daravi, the vice president of public relations at the Kennedy Center, expressed pride in offering a meaningful experience for families to delve into the Christmas story. He mentioned, “It’s the season to make precious memories and celebrate the sacred with celebration.”

Grenell, appointed by President Donald Trump, shared his vision for a grand production celebrating the universal theme of Christmas: the birth of Christ.

Many well-known Christian artists will perform at the event, including Charles Billingsley and Matthew West.

Billingsley, who has a long solo career after his time with the contemporary Christian group New Song, conveyed excitement about participating in “Noel Is Born!” He looks forward to celebrating with classic Christmas songs, a lively big band, and a beautiful Nativity scene.

In addition to his music, Billingsley serves as a teaching pastor at Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia, and has upcoming Christmas concerts planned across several cities, including New York City and Richmond, Virginia.

Matthew West is noted as “one of the most prolific singer-songwriters in Christian music,” having won multiple awards, including five Grammys. He has authored eight books and hosts the Matthew West Podcast.

West is also touring for his “Come Home for Christmas” series, with shows scheduled in various locations, including Pennsylvania and North Carolina, along with a performance at the Merry Mercy Christmas Benefit in Tennessee.

Additional Christmas programming at the Kennedy Center includes Cincinnati Ballet’s “The Nutcracker,” as well as concerts featuring gospel artist Melinda Doolittle and Grammy winner Gregory Porter.
