Week 12 Running Back Waiver Wire Watch

Hey there! The NFL weekend has wrapped up, so it’s time to turn our attention elsewhere. Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and that means the fantasy playoffs are getting close. It’s definitely a good idea to start gearing up for the postseason.

Let’s look at some running backs you might want to consider snagging off the waiver wire as we head into Week 12. Just to clarify, we’ll focus on players who are rostered in about 60% or fewer leagues.

Week 12 Bye Teams

Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, Washington Commanders

Sean Tucker, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (20.0%)

The Buccaneers just missed the mark in a high-scoring 44-32 loss to the Bills. But for Sean Tucker, Sunday was a standout day. He recorded 106 rushing yards, 34 receiving yards, and scored three touchdowns, amassing over 30 fantasy points across all formats. With competition getting tougher, he seems to be solidifying his role in the backfield.

It’s worth mentioning that Bucky Irving was back in practice last week but didn’t play. That might mean Irving’s return is near. Even if he plays in the upcoming game against the Rams, Tucker should still have a strong presence in the offense.

Week 12 Matchup: @ Los Angeles Rams, 8:20 p.m. ET

Emmanuel Wilson, RB, Green Bay Packers (8.8%)

The Packers managed to beat the Giants 27-20, though it wasn’t their smoothest performance. With Jordan Love and Josh Jacobs out due to injuries, Wilson stepped up and made the most of his opportunities, racking up 40 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.

Jacobs, who has been a significant contributor, is dealing with a knee issue and might miss the upcoming game against the Vikings. If you’re a Jacobs’ manager, it would be wise to keep an eye on Wilson—you might need to add him to your roster.

Week 12 Matchup: vs. Minnesota Vikings, 1 p.m. ET

Beishul Tuten, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars (23.7%)

The Jaguars dominated the Chargers last Sunday with a 35-6 victory, benefiting from solid performances by their running backs, including Tuten. He gained 74 yards and scored on 15 attempts, matching his teammate Travis Etienne’s efforts.

This was actually Tuten’s highest carry total of the season, suggesting that he’s finally settling into a more defined role. He may be worth a look, especially if you’re a manager looking to bolster your lineup.

Week 12 Matchup: @ Arizona Cardinals, 4:05 PM ET

Kareem Hunt, RB, Kansas City Chiefs (49.6%)

The Chiefs faced a tough 22-19 loss to the Broncos and their chances for a tenth consecutive AFC West title are looking shaky. The offense, typically dynamic, hasn’t been quite right lately. Hunt has been the most effective running threat, carrying the ball 13 times for 45 yards and a touchdown against Denver.

With Isaiah Pacheco recovering from a knee injury, Hunt has stepped in effectively. Even if Pacheco returns, it might be beneficial for the Chiefs to stick with Hunt, considering his recent performances. Keep him in your thoughts this week.
