Week 12 Fantasy Football Insights
Welcome to Week 12 of the fantasy football season! It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. If you had Josh Allen in Week 11, you might have felt a sense of relief with a potential win on the horizon. On the flip side, those who hoped for a big second-half turnaround from Lamar Jackson might be feeling a bit disappointed. But we keep going, right? Below, you’ll find my rankings for the top quarterbacks this week.
Teams making headlines include Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Commanders, and Miami Dolphins.
Some players to note are Bo Nix, Justin Herbert, Marcus Mariota, and Tua Tagovailoa.
Jacoby Brissett vs. Jacksonville
Brissett had quite a showing against the 49ers, completing 47 passes for a striking 452 yards, along with two touchdowns and two interceptions. It was, I suppose, a dream performance for him. He has managed to throw two touchdown passes in all five games he’s started this season. This week, he’s facing a struggling Jaguars pass defense, which has been quite generous, allowing the third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this year.
Michael Penix Jr. and the Falcons
Unfortunately for Penix Jr., he’s looking at some time on IR after worsening his knee injury in Week 11. Kirk Cousins is poised to take over during his absence, which might not bode well for the Falcons as a unit.
Then there’s Rodgers, who broke his non-throwing hand last week. We’re all waiting to see if he can push through this injury. If not, then Mason Rudolph might have to step up, just in time for the holidays.
Stroud is sitting out this week following a concussion from his match against the Broncos in Week 9. There’s some hope he’ll participate in practices and potentially return by Week 13.
Dart also took a hit in Week 10, leaving with a concussion and missing Week 11. As of Monday, he’s still in concussion protocol but, if all goes well, should make it back this week.
Gabriel is currently in concussion protocol as well and needs medical clearance to play this weekend. If he can’t go, there’s a question mark on who might start in his place, but Shedur Saunders filled in for him last week.
