EPA Administrator Responds to Claims Made by Texas Rep.
The Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Lee Zeldin, reacted to applause following remarks made by Texas Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett. Crockett mentioned receiving funds from a man named Jeffrey Epstein, but didn’t directly name Zeldin in her claims.
During her comments, she highlighted various individuals and organizations purportedly linked to Epstein, including Mitt Romney, the NRCC, and George Bush, alongside Zeldin’s name. “I had my team look into it very quickly,” she stated.
Zeldin responded, asserting that any contributions to his past campaigns had no connection to the infamous convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein. In a post to X, he emphasized his point, attempting to clarify the confusion surrounding the name.
In a humorous turn, Zeldin noted that there is, in fact, a “Dr. Jeffrey Epstein” who is a completely different individual, and he pointed out that donations came from this person, correcting any misconceptions.
After making the clarification, Zeldin humorously exclaimed “NO” in capital letters, underlining his disbelief about the assertion. It was quite the moment of back-and-forth.
Fox News Digital has sought comments from Crockett’s office regarding the exchange.
For context, Zeldin previously ran for governor of New York in 2022 but was defeated by Democrat Kathy Hochul. His political experience includes time in the U.S. House of Representatives and the New York State Senate.
Interestingly, former President Donald Trump once remarked that Crockett possesses a “very low IQ,” which adds another layer to the ongoing discussion surrounding her.
